Product Description

This is Critical Cycles brand new fixed-gear/single-speed bike. We want you to choose how you ride, which is why we've built this baby around a flip-flop hub. Ride fixed or single-speed with a freewheel. Our bikes come installed on the single-speed side, but you can quickly change the orientation by removing, flipping, and re-installing the rear wheel. These speed demons come equipped with two brakes to ensure your safety, 30mm deep-v rims for a softer ride, and KMC chain for ultimate reliability. Just because we've built this bike to be kind to your wallet, we haven't compromised on the quality of our components or the reliability of our ride.

It is easy to assemble out of the box, you can find several youtube videos if needed, but the box instructions are plentiful.I purchased this bike back in August 2016 after bike shopping for several months, and realized this price was too good to be true. I have been riding it daily and keep it well maintained (garage parked). I loved it at first, and thought it was a great buy. However after 4 months the steering wheel became loose, i got it tightened at the local bike shop, but this has happened frequently since.During March 2017, the driver side square crank square taper (what the pedal is connected too) just broke off, like a clean cut.I took it to two bike stores and both of them said, they have never seen a cut like this on a bike so new. They asked for the brand of the bike, and once i said crticalcycle they immediately said "ooo, we have seen a lot of those bikes here, this company has managed to make a bike so cheap yet so dangerous" in the sense that any part can break off at any time.Don't forget to make sure your chain is tight, make sure of this often. This has come apart on me several times, and would get it tightened monthly.SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL if you own this bike, it can be very dangerous as parts can start breaking at anytime.

There were many manufacturing defects which made this bike impossible to assemble or ride. I was given the wrong size front wheel, which rendered the bike impossible to ride because the pedals would have gotten caught on/hit the front wheel if it was at all turned. Additionally, the front brakes were installed in such a way that part of the brake hit/got caught on the down tube every time the front wheel was turned to the left. I struggled to assemble this bike for two hours before I realized that these manufacturing defects were present.

We were so excited to try out Critical Cycles when my husband's commuter bike finally broke down and needed to purchase a new bike. All the reviews were great and we were super pumped.

Fast forward to when we purchased - we specifically felt ok purchasing through the Critical Cycles website as they have a very easy to understand shipping map. We based everything off of it. If we would have known it would take so long to "prepare" our order and ship it out (all in all what they said would be 4 business days turned out to be 8), we definitely would have just gotten a put together bike somewhere close by our neighborhood. When I called to try and understand why there was a shipment issue, I waited on hold for nine and a half minutes before someone picked up (I heard the hold music stop) and then just hung up immediately. I tried calling back and then no one would answer.

Then the bike arrives and has zero instructions in it. Not a single piece of paper. So I go online and look under their instructions tabs to see if we can just get them on the computer - nothing for our specific make. I call them and get a girl who has a super bad attitude and said, "someone will call you back." I said, "Last time I called, I was hung up on and I've never had a good experience trying to call, so can we be positive someone will call me back?" She got very snippy and said, "I mean yeah I'm gonna give someone your message so...."

About 5 minutes later a man called me and said he would send instructions in an email in 10 minutes. 10 minutes passed, then 20, then 30.... I ended up watching the video instructions for a different bike and then went to a bike shop to get help. Over two hours passed before I received instructions via email.

The bike also has many issues - the handles slide down every single time he rides it to work. He has to pull out the tools and tighten everything every day. All in all - definitely get what you pay for and the customer service is crap.

Absolutely fantastic, probably the best bike available at this price.

This will be the 9th bike I've owned in my life so I am not a stranger to the options that are available. I was looking for a city bike for commuting around that I wouldn't be totally inconsolable if it was stolen. Compared to the other bikes at this price point, wow. No stamped out garbage brakes. Everything feels solid. No squeaks, no weird vibrations, no clunks. Plus, it has amazing styling! So no compromises on the quality or the looks.

Bike came together perfectly, with a nice manual (I opened that box last, of course, but the manual was helpful for double-checking). Aside from a screwdriver to install the reflectors all of the tools are included. Not that I would necessarily enjoy using what was included to assemble a bike but the multi-tool wrench is a nice edition to my ride-along toolkit. Bike was packed excellently with absolutely no shipping damage. Bike frame was well protected by all of the cardboard and padding.

Riding has been a real treat with total simplicity. The reason I did end up going with this model was (1) the price and (2) this is one of the few simple flip/flop models on Amazon that comes with both front and rear brakes. I have absolutely no intention of riding fixed but if I did, I would rather remove the rear brake myself than not be given the option at all. As such, I would highly recommend this model for anyone who "just wants A bike" without having to worry about a learning curve or complicated maintenance.

Great bike!
